Baby Micah Surgery Update

Surgery went well for Micah today. Doctor actually said he didn't have to do as much as they anticipated. The lining in his intestine was causing blockage, so Dr. went in and put the lining back in place where it belongs and is hoping it doesn't go back in that direction. Thank God again for His hand of miracles!!!! I am so excited we get to keep "The Bug" again this weekend. I love my time with her, she is so energized. Auntie Jo Jo loves her coming over too. They play "tea, and babies, and dress up." How many Aunties do that with their little nieces? LOL. They get along really well.

Please Pray

Please pray for baby Micah. He had lazer eye surgery yesterday and he is having surgery on his tummy this morning at 10:00. Micah is such a strong little guy, a true fighter. We know God is in control, and He knows all about it. We just ask for extra prayers for him so he can be back with his brother and closer to Mommy & Daddy and big sister. We give God all the Glory for what He has done!!!!

I'm a Big Boy!!!

Miguel in his big boy clothes. Well, move over Preemie clothes, we are about to bust out the seams!!! What a big boy!!! At 4lbs 6oz, he is just growing by leaps and bounds. No need for too many preemies by any means. He is such a big boy!! Mommy got to nurse him for the first time last night, and boy oh boy did he take advantage of the situation. Mommy gets to nurse him every day (once a day for now). This is such great progress. God is truly amazing!! Can't wait to cuddle this little butterball. I bet he will love Gammy hugs too!!!

Prayer Request

In all of the postings I have made here, I never really mentioned much about our Daughter and Son in law other than their strength and trust in God. Please pray for their continued strength, physically, and spiritually. They are not able to go home and are staying in a Hotel, so this is a whole life altering situation. Pray they can get the much needed rest as well as the spiritual strength they need. They have a wonderful church family, Pastor and Pastors wife and friends and family that give them lots of support and love. It is a trial for them as they continue on this journey. they are so proud of their little Angels and Myra. God has truly blessed them with a beautiful family. Guys, we love you!! And all the Gammy time Myra wants, we are ready!!!

Wow, Look at that Boy

Take a look at this little chunker. Meet the new baby Miguel, at 7 weeks old. He is doing fantastic!! Please pray for Micah, he is at KU Medical Center due to the infection in the reservoir and they had to remove it. Due to Dr being out of Country and other partner Dr. not doing their hospital yet, they had to move him. Pray the infection clears up really quickly so he can be back with his brother and slow down the long days for Mommy and Daddy. We are believing God for no long term effects from this or anything else!! God has brought these little troopers a LONG way!!!!

September 09 2009

Both boys are weighing 2lbs 11oz. Amazing progress. Thank you Lord for all that you are doing with these precious bundles!!! Mommy and Daddy get to hold both boys now and they are just loving it. Cuddle bugs!!! LOL What miracles they are!!! We ask you to continue to pray for both boys, and especially pray for baby Micahs tummy issues. In Jesus Name there is no more trouble with the hole in his intestine.

Progress Update

Boys are doing so well. God has truly touched these little Angels!! Weight is going up steadily, Miguel doing so good on Mommy's milk. Soon Micah will get Mommy's milk again. Imagine his weight gain and growth when he does get mommy milk. He is a real trooper. Thank you God for what you are doing with these precious little bundles. Gammy can't wait to hold and cuddle with them!!! Baby Myra is just loving her Bubbas.

Hav eyou ever just stood in wonder and awe when youthought about all that God has done??? This is where we are with the miracles God is doing in Miguel and Micah!! God is so amazing. These little fighters are going to be a tremendous testimony for the Lord someday!!!!

Photo Update

Baby Micah on 22 August 2009. What amazing progress with this little miracle boy!!! God is truly working wonders on baby Micah. Be careful Miguel, Micah is catching up so fast!!!!

Baby Miguel all snug in his bed. What a joy to see all that God has done in such a short time with these miracle Angels!! Miguel, Micah is gaining ground!! LOL. You look great big guy!!

We love these boys so much. What joy and excitement every time we hear news of progress.

"The BUG" AKA Big Sister Myra

Meet "The BUG" AKA big Sister Myra. Many of you may remember the battle in the beginning of Myras life. She also was a preemie, but as you can see God truly blessed her and made her a beautiful BIB sister. She loves her bubbas, and loves to go see them. She is going to be a fantastic big sister. Gammy loves it when she calls me at work. I love to answer the phone and hear my precious little Grandaughter say " Hi Gammy"!!! Her auntie Jo Jo "Squirt" loves her. We are looking forward to many more "Gammy" weekends!!!

2 Pounds and Counting

Both little Miracles have passed the 2 pound milestone. What a great miracle. They have both made awesome progress by this point in their tiny lives. Mommy is loving the snuggle moments with her precious little Angel Miguel!! At this point even the Dr. was willing to admit that Micah's progress is a miracle!! that in itself speaks volumes when a Dr will admit that a miracle is the only explanation for progress like this.

Hydrocephalus

Both boys had Hydrocephalus and had to have a shunt put in to drain the excess fluid in the ventricles in the brain. As Gammy, when I heard this I was heart broken at first, worried of course. But again, God sent peace and made me realize this is just a procedure to drain the fluid and prevent added problems. Another testimony that our daughter and son in law are so trusting toward God. No negative words come from their mouths. They just continue to trust and believe and testify of what God has done and is going to do!!!

Steady Weight Gain

Both boys have made tremendous progress at this point in their little lives. Miguel weighed in at 1lb 14oz, and Micah at 1lb 11oz. Wow, God is truly a Miracle Worker!!! Our daughter was able to hold her son, Miguel. Micah will be soon. What a joy!! Talking to her on the phone was such a joy. This is 1 proud mommy!! Her and our son in law are so happy and excited. They can't wait to hold and cuddle both of their little Angels!!!

August 13

Miguel doing great from his surgery. His eyes are open....... yeah!! Micah's eyes are still shut but he will be right behind!! Micah was at 1lb 10oz this day. Miguel was not weighed since he had surgery yesterday. Progress in a major way!! God keeps working miracles. Micah did have a procedure done on his little tummy on the 10th to drain the waste. His progress has been great. Strong little Angels!!! I want to mention how proud we are of our daughter and son in law. They are so faithful and true to God!! Even through all of this, they do NOT charge God foolishly. Many people may have raised their fists at God and asked Him WHY???? BUt through all this, you can always catach a smile on their face and nothing but Faith coming from their mouths!!! God is blessing their faithfulness!!!

Baby Miguels upcoming heart surgery

Baby Miguel was diagnosed with a large PDA, which was going to require surgery. After my daughter called and told me this, I began to weep. However, after realizing it was not a major surgery I felt the Peace of God. These boys are truly fighters! What a power team they are going to be for the Kingdom of God!!!! Day after day God just performs miracle after miracle on these little Angels!! Miguel came through his surgery fine and is stable. Oh the thought of what God has done and is going to continue to do with these boys is almost overwhelming!!

Sunday August 9

This is the day Baby Micah got his PICC line inserted. Doctors noticed some discoloring in his little abdomen, which the Dr. thinks it may be Necrotizing Enterocolitis, (hole in his intestines and it leaks into his little abdomen) but he was not showing the typical symptoms of this. He is a fighter. Only God knew at this point that it truly was what baby Micah had. He is such a fighter. God is in control. Prayers are truly coveted for these boys.

Gammy's Birthday Present

Today (August 8) was my birthday, and I was able to go see my precious Grandsons, and "The Bug" of course. We had a good time. Great birthday present!! What precious little miracles laying there, totally dependent on God. the hand of God is truly at work here!! Boys are doing good. Miguel received a PICC line this day. God is wonderfully awesome. Can't wait to hold these little Angels!!

A scary Night

Well, we kept our precious Grandaughter "The Bug" AKA Big Sister Myra, so daddy could help mom and get a little bit of rest. Daddy came Saturday night to get a nights rest and pick up "the Bug" and we got the call in the middle of the morning that Micah had a spell. They had to recuscitate baby Micah in the wee hours of the night. Our poor daughter, sore from the C-Section, worried about the boys and then have to get these news. But, God prevailed. Baby Micah made it through the night. Thank you God!!! Minute by minute faith.

The Surprise Arrival/ Proud Gammy and Papa Again

July 31, 2009 marks the day these 2 beautiful twins decided to surprise everyone and make their grand entrance into the world. 24 weeks and 2 days gestation age, no-one was prepared for this grand entrance. Especially Mommy and Daddy. Twins, fraternal twin boys that is. Miguel Juan and Micah James decided that this was the day they were going to make their entrance into this world. Mommy was scheduled for her 3-D sonogram this day, and just wasn't feeling quite right. Pressure and pain prompted them to contact the Dr. He had the sonographer check her cervix and this was when they discovered she needed to get to the Hospital. Being only 5 minutes away was a true blessing, as by the time she arrived at the hospital and examined she was already dilated to 6cm and both boys were breech. Mommy and Daddy were sent into a tail spin with the news as mommy was wheeled in for an emergency C-Section. (This was the last thing Mommy wanted)! Shortly thereafter, these 2 precious little boys arrived. Tiny is an understatement. Miguel weighed in at 1lb 12 ounces and was 13 inches long, while his brother Micah weighed in at 1lb 6 ounces and was 11.5 inches long. Mom saw the boys briefly as they had to be taken to the NICU immediately. We arrived a while later after these precious boys arrived but didn't get to see them on the day of their arrival. Prayer was on our minds from the minute we heard Mommy was in the hospital. At this point all we could think of was Ok God, here they are and we trust you!!
